Isoamyl salicylate
What is Isoamyl salicylate?
A colorless liquid with a strong floral aroma. Insoluble in water and glycerin. It has fixative properties and is used in the formulation of many types of fragrances. Due to its stability to alkalis, it is highly suitable for soap fragrances. It is also used in medicine. It can be used in food. It is prepared by esterification of isoamyl alcohol and salicylic acid.
